to last vs last for

Hi,

Can anybody explain why in the following sentences:

1. The meeting lasted two hours.
2. The drought lasted for several months.

the verb "to last" is once used without a preposition and once with a preposition "for".

Is there any rule for this?

Do anyone know when to use too and so because both seems to be same and i want to know where to use them as eg: too much or so much?

& here my question ,,, when i can use for & when i can use too
what is the rule

2- That officer ------ his reports every morning
a) doing Cool done c) do d) does
& here i guess that i don't know or understand the rule of choice at all

relative clause

I confuse using of "which"and "when "in this statement:
"My computer has a coffee......Iuse at lauchtime"
And"A post office is a place........We can buy stamp"
The choices:

a,which
b,where
c,when
d,why
I chose the second (where)for both.In fact the right are:
St1:which
St2:where
i can not understand.Could you tell me the differences?

Two question marks

Hallo,
I found in a reading "competitor' products".

I can't understand if the "s" is missing after the apostrophe because of a misprint or if the "s" can be omitted according to some specific rule.

The other question is as follows:

"Does the term "equipment" have the plural form "equipments" ?"

the corrcet is "to"but i dont know why.

the choices are:

b- found
c- find
d- hiding

as what i knew i guessed that i'll find the choice (to find) but as u see my friends (it is just find) & the flag remark it asa right question

i don't know what i have to do with my head?

i have a statement:

She ---- a cup of coffee all morning.

the choices are:

a- is wanting
b- has wanted
c- was wanted
d- will wanted

at the first trial i selected (was wanted) but the flag comes wrong
then i dicovered that the right answer is (has wanted)

who can tell me why plz & what is the cases which i can use was wanted & has wanted
