confius she

i'm very poor in gramatic...i just want to ask she was or she were...example sentence.."if she was to decide to go to" or .."if she were to decide to go to"...

a. they have worked here since 1945
b. they have been working here since 1945

what is actually the difference of both sentences, don't both sentences mean that "they" have worked in 1945 and still working till now Waiting

A doubt

I have a doubt regarding the use of the prepositions by and from.

For example is it correct to say "from me" with the same meaning of "by me"?

which is the difference between these two prepositions?

ing vs en

this statement:

He can repair all the _________ boxes.

a- breaking.
b- broke.
c- break.
d- broken.

i choosed breaking (as i thought it is a present participle modifies "boxes")

but i found that the right answer is (broken)

can any body help me to know why? , is there any explain for that plz

now thw statement is :

& the choices are :
a- patriot.
b- patriotically.
c- patriotism
d- patriotic.
the coeerct one is (d) (patriotic) ... but why ?
i choosed partiot & it was wrong... can u help me to know why?

another conflict

if we have a statement :
John said, "We ----- to leave now".

&the selections are:
a- ought.
b- had ought.
c- must.
d- should.

i choosed (should) but it was wrong
& the correct one is (ought)
but (as i know) there is no difference between should & ought to
so can any one tell me when i can use each of them?

why wrote out not wrote on?

hi again my friends, i have a new question here
if we have a statement like:

My son wrote ---- his old shoes.
& the choices are:
a) with.
Cool on.
c) for.
d) out.

the correct answer is (d) - (out)
but i felt that it make sense to select (Cool - (on) , but that is not right.

can someone help me to understand that?
